Founder’s Journey
— Attorney Cha

Attorney Cha graduated from National Taiwan University Law School and earned his Master of Comparative Law at the University of Michigan. He began his career in New York with Finley Kumble Wagner before founding the firm in 1984. Since 1985, he has served as lending counsel for banks including HSBC and numerous Taiwanese and Hong Kong institutions with branches in New York. He also represented dozens of state-owned and private companies from Taiwan and mainland China in their U.S. investments.

In the 1990s, Attorney Cha participated in Taiwan’s constitutional reform as a representative of the overseas community, contributing to the adoption of direct presidential elections. During this period, he also established the firm’s Beijing office and advised leading international funds and corporations on landmark “first-move” investments across multiple industries in China.

Over the following decades, he has served as an independent director for financial, high-tech, and biotech companies across Greater China and the United States, including a NASDAQ-listed financial enterprise. His expertise lies in regulatory compliance, risk management, and preventive controls.

In recent years, Attorney Cha has focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial law, exploring practical applications of AI in cross-border transactions. His mission is to share knowledge openly with peers and young lawyers, fostering understanding, efficiency, and reduced legal costs in global financial practice.
